Who is Foster The City?

Foster the City inspires and equips churches to provide safe and loving homes for children in foster care.

What is Foster The City's strategy?

Foster the City works to inspire and equip churches to raise up at least one Foster Family with four Support Friends until there are more than enough families to meet the need.

Are you religiously affiliated?

Yes. We are a non-denominational, Christian movement.

How does Foster The City receive it's funding?

We are not financially funded by any government agency. Our work is funded solely through the private donations of those who believe in the vision and mission of Foster the City.

Are you an approving/licensing agency?

No. We are not a licensed foster or adoption agency. We work in relationship with many Child Welfare Agencies and Foster Family Agencies that provide the approval and placements.

Do I need to be a Christian to be involved with Foster the City as a Foster Parent or Support Friend?

No. However, because many of our families are followers of Jesus, we ask that you are supportive of those with Christian beliefs and values.

I am a Foster Parent, but I do not attend a FTC Partner Church. Can we still get a Support Team?

We are so thankful for every Foster Family providing love to vulnerable children, but at this time we only have the capacity to provide Support Friends for Foster Parents who are engaged on the Foster the City path. If you would like to initiate conversation about how your church could become a partner church, fill out the form on this page.

I am not ready to be a Support Friend, but I would still like to support Foster the City. Are there other ways that I can help?

One of the most impactful ways that you can move this vision forward is by becoming a financial partner. Your generosity can directly impact the lives of vulnerable children and families. Learn more

We have several additional volunteer opportunities to contribute to the work of Foster the City. This includes providing childcare or snacks for meetings, data entry, graphic design, videography, photography, etc. If you are interested in volunteering with Foster the City, please RSVP for an upcoming Interest Meeting near you to learn more about how you can partner with us to care for vulnerable children in your community.

Who is the app for?

The Foster the City app is a custom app for the Foster the City community, including Advocates, Foster Families, and Support Friends.

How do I download the app?

If you already hold a role within the Foster the City Community, you can download the app in the App Store on your phone.

Why was the app created?

For years, we heard of the need to create a digital platform that would hold the relationships and resources in one place. The app provides greater visibility, clarity, and support to Advocates, Foster Families, and Support Friends in the Foster the City community.

How do I found out more the app?

We would love to invite you attend a Foster the City Interest Meeting, RSVP here
